Step 1: Initial Contact

• Made by email, phone or in person.
• Discussion of what you want your website to achieve for your business. This includes the design, content, complexity, size and features.
• We provide you with a basic design outline for the home page together with costings for the complete site build, domain name registration, hosting and content management system (if required).
• An estimated time plan will be agreed with a projected date for going live.

Step 2: Website Construction

• We start to build the pages and functionality of your website.
• You need to confirm whether you would like a content management system in place.
• You provide text for the pages.
• We can recommend a qualified journalist to provide your text – this would entail an extra cost to be paid directly to the journalist.
• You provide images for the pages.
• You provide your business logo.
• Regular contact will be maintained via email, telephone and meeting if necessary to ensure you are happy with the progress of your site.

Step 3: Finalising Site Layout and Content

• A content management system is built if required.
• The finalised website is signed off.

Step 4: Hosting and Domain Name Registry

• We fix up annual hosting costing approximately £20 per 5GB*.
• We can obtain a domain name for you.

Step 5: Prices/Costs

• The amount we charge for website construction and design varies according to complexity. The following costings give an example, but are not set. All costings are done individually and in agreement with clients.
  • Start up fee: £50
  • Cost per page: £40
  • Content Management System: £50 for system plus £30 per page
  • Hosting: £20 per annum per 5GB* (gigabytes)
  • Domain Name (.com or .co.uk etc.): from £10 (for .co.uk) or £15 (for .com) per annum depending on availability. Other domain endings available on request.
  • Monthly ongoing telephone/email technical support from Web Vortex (to include updating content): Free for the first month (from the date of your site going live). Thereafter, charged at £10 an hour.
• This may be paid via cheque, cash or PayPal.

*Most websites will be far under 5GB unless they have a lot of high resolution photos and videos. For example, this entire website is only about 1MB.
